# Upcoming Features: Livestock & Animal Integration

**DecentrAgri is expanding beyond crops** — livestock and animal monitoring are coming soon. As we continue to evolve the platform into a comprehensive digital farming companion, we're adding support for farmers who raise animals alongside their crops.

#### Why Animals?

In many rural farms, animals and crops coexist in a single ecosystem. Chickens, goats, pigs, and cattle aren’t just side operations — they’re essential to livelihood, biodiversity, and nutrient cycles (e.g., natural fertilizer). DecentrAgri aims to **reflect real farm life**, not just parts of it.

#### What We’re Building

* **Animal Health Scanning**\
  Farmers will be able to capture images of livestock to assess visible signs of disease or malnutrition using **AI-driven health checks** — just like they do for plants today.
* **Digital Livestock Profiles**\
  Each animal can have a **record NFT** — with age, breed, health history, vaccination logs, and growth metrics. This builds transparency for vet care, insurance, and even future sales.
* **Breeding & Yield Tracking**\
  We'll introduce features to monitor breeding cycles, offspring count, and yield output (e.g., milk or eggs), helping farmers **optimize animal productivity**.
* **Gamified Animal Care**\
  Since our platform is gamified, animal care activities like timely feeding, vaccination, or shelter maintenance will **reward users with XP or tokens**. This creates a more engaging, **Tamagotchi-meets-real-farm experience**.
* **Smart Vital Signs Monitoring (Prototype)**\
  We are actively developing a **portable device for capturing vital signs** such as temperature, heart rate, and respiration directly from livestock in the field. The AI engine will correlate these readings with visual assessments from image scans to produce **richer health insights**. This multi-input system enables early detection of issues that may not be visible to the naked eye — empowering farmers with a deeper, data-driven understanding of their animals’ condition.
* **Market Integration (Phase 2)**\
  Verified livestock NFTs may later be linked to **real-world marketplaces** for transparent animal sales, sponsorships, or cooperative exchanges.
